Even after the first historical reference of Tuberculosis in the 15th century BC, TB still remains one of the world’s deadliest infectious killers. On this world TB day, Doctors of the Indian Army and SDH Dawar undertook a collective effort to create awareness amongst the community through Health Care Workers and paramedics. During the event awareness regarding the devastating health, social and economic consequences of TB was provided.
The event was attended by Block Medical Officer from SDH, OC FSC, OC Dental, and Medical Officer of the local unit and other Doctors of the SDH. Around 45 Health Care Workers were benefitted from the programme and they plan to disseminate the message and healthy practices learnt today amongst the local public.
The Army Doctor also talked about the importance of health care workers of National Health Mission in bridging the gap between Doctors and community and a small training capsule was organised by the team.
Such events empower the health care workers for better medical governance in the remote Gurez valley and helps in promoting awareness about such diseases. These events also help in building the synergy between the Army and Civil Doctors and contribute to professional growth of both the sections.
