Two drug peddlers arrested  at sumbal bridge | Police

GANDERBAL : Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society and taking stringent action against the drug peddlers, Ganderbal Police has launched massive hunt against Narcotic peddling in the District.

On the directions of SSP Ganderbal Shri Nikhil Borkar-IPS, Police Party of Police Post Shadipora led by DO Shadipora laid a strong naka at Sumbal bridge under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Ganderbal Shri Abdul Majid-JKPS. During checking police party intercepted a white colour Xylo Vehicle bearing regd. No. JK 15 0610 coming from sumbal side towards Baroosa Ganderbal in which two persons on board were found carrying contraband substance in a polythene bag.

On preliminary questioning, the two persons were identified as:
1. Bilal Ah Parry S/O Ali Mohammad Parry R/O Wangipora Sumbal Bandipora
2. Javid Ah Ganie S/O Gh Mohammad Ganie R/O Lar Gbl.

During their personal search and search of their vehicle, contraband Substance 15 No.s sealed Bottles of Codeine Phosphate & Spasmo Proxyvon plus 8×16 tablet strips i.e, 128 capsules were recovered from their possession. Both the persons were arrested and contraband substance was also seized on the spot.

In this regard Case FIR No 41/2022 U/S 8/21-29 NDPS Act was registered at PS Ganderbal and further investigation has been taken up.

Ganderbal Police appeals general public to cooperate with Police by way of sharing inputs related to Drug peddling so that culprits could be curbed effectively.
