Fashion, glamour and entertainment came together at Bombay Times Fashion Week 2026, where designer Riyaz and Reshma Gangji’s fashion label LIBAS celebrated 30 years in the industry with a special runway presentation. Sohail Khan and Anupriya Goenka were the celebrity showstoppers, while Aman Indra Kumar also made an appearance on the ramp. However, the highlight of the evening came when Sohail Khan broke into dance during his runway walk, bringing the audience to its feet and filling the auditorium with cheers and applause.

Riyaz Gangji and his son Aman Gangji presented LIBAS’s three-decade journey through a distinctive collection inspired by the mysterious and royal nights of Egypt. The combination of deep black and the shimmer of desert champagne gave the ensembles a striking character. The collection brought together the grandeur of ancient Egypt and the richness of Indian craftsmanship.

Velvet bandhgala jackets featuring golden embroidery inspired by ancient Egyptian script, lehengas evoking the flowing sands of the desert and outfits reflecting royal elegance were among the highlights. The colour palette moved from deep black to rich red, desert champagne and refreshing mint. Each ensemble reflected a blend of traditional Indian design and international inspiration.

Sohail Khan’s entry transformed the atmosphere. His energy, effortless swagger and dance moves delighted the audience. He did more than walk the ramp; he turned the fashion presentation into a celebration. At the end of the show, Sohail Khan joined Riyaz and Aman Gangji for a dance, with the audience also joining in the festive mood.

Sohail Khan on stepping out of his comfort zone

Sharing his experience, Sohail Khan said, “Walking the ramp with dance and fun was the speciality of this show. There are many fashion shows, but having so much fun along with the ramp walk was something new and different. I had done a fashion show around 15–20 years ago. When Riyaz bhai approached me for this show, I took a little time before saying yes. Then I felt that I should step out of my comfort zone and do it.”

He added, “Riyaz encouraged me a lot to wear a jacket, although I did not even wear a suit at my own wedding. What made me happiest was seeing smiles on the audience’s faces. There was a different kind of swagger and confidence on the ramp, and when the dancing began, it felt as if everyone was having a wonderful time. At a time when so much is happening around us, seeing people smile and enjoy themselves felt really good.”

Sohail credits his parents for the Khan brothers’ fitness

When asked about the fitness of the Khan brothers, Sohail said, “I would give the credit for Salman, Arbaaz and my fitness to our parents. They took great care of our diet, upbringing and the way we conducted ourselves. We also try to pass on those qualities to our children.”

Anupriya Goenka makes an impression in a red lehenga

Showstopper Anupriya Goenka looked stunning in a red lehenga featuring intricate gota and tikli work, with a ‘Prince Charming’ motif beautifully created on the outfit. The traditional Indian craftsmanship and detailed work made her ensemble stand out.

Speaking about LIBAS, Anupriya said, “I have always liked LIBAS outfits because they are very comfortable to wear. You never feel restricted by what you are wearing. Instead, they give you the freedom and confidence to enjoy every moment. That is what makes them special.”

Riyaz Gangji brings an Egyptian inspiration to Indian fashion

Explaining the inspiration behind the collection, designer Riyaz Gangji said, “I saw these deep colours in Egypt and thought that I should bring a theme like this to India. I observed that darkness and atmosphere there and then tried to give it an Indian touch.”

Riyaz Gangji has been associated with Bombay Times Fashion Week since its first season. He believes in presenting not just glamour and style but also a fresh idea or message through every show. With LIBAS completing 30 years, the collection brought together Indian silhouettes and craftsmanship with the historical and royal inspiration of Egypt.

Fashion personalities appreciate the collection

Actress and influencer Ekta Jain, along with South Indian actors Rupali Sood and Avinash Rai, and Shraddha Sharma, were also present at the show. They appreciated the collection and described Riyaz Gangji’s theme as fresh and distinctive. They noted that after three decades in fashion design, Riyaz continues to bring creativity and a different perspective to the runway.

The LIBAS presentation at Bombay Times Fashion Week 2026 was more than a fashion showcase. It celebrated three decades of creativity, family association, Indian craftsmanship and entertainment. Sohail Khan’s dance, Anupriya Goenka’s elegant appearance and the distinctive theme presented by Riyaz and Aman Gangji made the evening memorable.
