Bandipora, October 29: National Conference MLA from Sonawari, Advocate Hilal Akbar Lone, has reacted to Bandipora district not getting representation in the recent expansion of the Jammu and Kashmir Council of Ministers, saying that the focus should remain on development and completion of projects rather than ministerial positions.

Lone said that instead of being concerned about the lack of ministerial representation, the priority should be to ensure that development works are taken up and completed for the welfare of the people.

He stated that whenever he presented any project before Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, the latter approved it, adding that this demonstrated the government’s willingness to support developmental initiatives.

“Our focus should be on work and development. Whenever I have taken up any project with Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, he has approved it. Therefore, our priority should be to ensure that development works continue. We do not need a ministry as long as the work is being done,” Lone said.

Reacting to the resignation of Srinagar Member of Parliament Aga Ruhullah Mehdi, Lone described it as his personal matter. He said that they had wished Ruhullah would not part ways, but added that if he had decided to resign, there was little they could do about it.

Lone maintained that development and addressing public concerns should remain the primary priorities, irrespective of whether Bandipora district has representation in the Council of Ministers.
