Srinagar, Oct 15 (JKNS): National Conference MP from Srinagar Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi has criticised the alleged conduct of a senior IAS officer in Jammu and Kashmir, who serves as Administrative Secretary, Labour and Employment, over his reported interaction with a woman KAS officer during a meeting attended by several officials.
In a strongly worded social media post, as per news agency JKNS, Ruhullah alleged that the senior officer raised his voice at the woman officer and threatened her career after she insisted on being allowed to complete her statement.
Praising the woman officer for maintaining her composure and standing up for her dignity and self-respect, the MP criticised what he described as an attempt to use official authority to intimidate a woman officer.
Ruhullah also linked the incident to the situation following the abrogation of Article 370, alleging that such conduct reflected an erosion of dignity and accountability within the administration.
He urged the Lieutenant Governor’s administration to take note of the matter and warned that any action against the woman officer for asserting her dignity would have consequences. (JKNS)
