Uri, Oct 13 (JKNS): As part of its continued commitment to the welfare of veterans and strengthening its bond with local population, the Indian Army, under the aegis of Dagger Division and Kalapahar Brigade, organised an Ex-Servicemen (ESM) Welfare Meet at Kaman Post under Operation Sadbhavna.

The initiative aimed to address the concerns of ex-servicemen, raise awareness about various government welfare schemes and encourage the younger generation to join the Indian Armed Forces.

The meet witnessed the enthusiastic participation of over 30 ex-servicemen from seven villages falling within the battalion’s Area of Responsibility (AoR). The gathering provided a platform for veterans to reconnect with the Army, share their experiences and obtain information about various welfare initiatives.

The participants were also briefed about the Agnipath Scheme, including eligibility criteria, recruitment procedures, training opportunities, financial benefits and career prospects.

The programme reflected the enduring ethos of “Once a Soldier, Always a Soldier,” reaffirming the Indian Army’s unwavering bond with those who have served the nation with honour and pride. (JKNS)
