Anantnag, Oct 7 (JKNS): At least three persons, including a firefighter, were injured while more than half a dozen residential houses were damaged after a fire broke out in Qazi Mohalla area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district early Wednesday.
Reports reaching news agency JKNS said the fire erupted from one of the residential houses at around 2:00 am and soon spread to other houses in the vicinity, causing significant damage to property.
Fire tenders were immediately rushed to the spot, and the blaze was brought under control after firefighting personnel prevented it from spreading further.
During the incident, two locals who were assisting the fire services and one firefighter sustained injuries. They were shifted to a medical facility for treatment.
The exact cause of the fire was not immediately known. Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the incident. (JKNS)
