Srinagar, Sept 29 (JKNS): In a significant step towards strengthening field-level data collection and improving the quality of Cost of Cultivation data, high-performance laptops were distributed among 12 Field Investigators and one Field Supervisor at the Main Campus of SKUAST-Kashmir on 28 September 2026 under the Cost of Cultivation (CoC) Scheme of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-Jammu), Minsitry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, GoI.
The laptops were distributed by the Honorary Director, Cost of Cultivation, SKUAST-Jammu, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Govt of India Prof. Dr. Sudhakar Dwivedi, under the able leadership and guidance of the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Skuast-Jammu, Prof. B. N. Tripathi. along with the Field Officer CCS, Dr. Raju Gupta and Field Supervisor CCS Zone-III Mr. Aamir Hussain Wagay
This initiative, undertaken under the Cost of Cultivation Scheme of the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India, aims to facilitate smooth, efficient and quality-oriented data collection for Minimum Support Price (MSP) determination.
The provision of high-performance laptops is expected to strengthen the technological capabilities of field functionaries, streamline data management, improve accuracy, and ensure timely collection and processing of field-level information. This technological intervention will further enhance the efficiency of the Cost of Cultivation operations and contribute towards generating reliable agricultural data essential for evidence-based policymaking.
The initiative reflects the university’s commitment to strengthening institutional capacity and promoting technology-driven agricultural data collection for effective implementation of nationally important agricultural programmes.
