Srinagar, Sept 23 (JKNS): Two police personnel were found dead inside a car at Ziarat Morh in the Sana area of Batote tehsil in Ramban district on Tuesday evening, officials said.
An official told news agency JKNS that the two personnel were found unconscious inside a Fiat Linea car bearing registration number JK-19/5299 at around 8:30 pm.
They were shifted to District Hospital Ramban by locals, where doctors declared them brought dead.
The deceased were identified as Head Constable Farid Ahmed (No. 408/Rbn), a resident of Bhatti Ramban, and Selection Grade Constable Muhammad Yaqoob (No. 309/Rbn), a resident of Jatgali Ramban.
Both personnel were posted at District Police Lines (DPL), Ramban.
The bodies have been kept at the hospital for medico-legal formalities.
The official said the exact cause and circumstances leading to their deaths were not immediately known.
Police have initiated proceedings to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident.(JKNS)
