Srinagar, Sept 22 (JKNS): A three-day training programme under the Insurance Marketing Professionals Academy (IMPA) was conducted in Srinagar with the objective of creating awareness about skill-based income opportunities, insurance marketing and pathways towards independent livelihoods.
The programme was organised as part of a skilling initiative by Bajaj Finserv, with a focus on helping individuals understand the insurance marketing profession and explore opportunities to generate income without making an upfront investment.
The Rural Upliftment Foundation (RuF) played a key role in facilitating the programme as the rural development and skilling organisation, while Foundation For Youth Web worked as the implementation partner in Srinagar.
The local implementation involved mobilising participants, coordinating the training, supporting on-ground arrangements and connecting young people with the learning opportunity.
The programme introduced participants to the Insurance Marketing Professionals Academy (IMPA) and provided an overview of the knowledge and skills required to enter the insurance marketing field.
The training also highlighted flexible work opportunities, the possibility of creating an additional source of income and the potential for individuals to work towards greater financial independence.
A key focus of the programme was the concept of earning without initial investment. Participants were made aware that professional opportunities can be explored through skills, training and performance rather than necessarily requiring capital to start a conventional business.
The initiative therefore sought to expose participants to an alternative livelihood pathway, particularly for people looking for flexible or independent work opportunities.
According to the programme material, IMPA is designed for individuals aged 18 years and above, with a minimum educational qualification of 12th pass. Prior work experience is not required.
The programme also highlights flexible work-life balance, zero investment, independent working opportunities, additional income generation, certification and accreditation as key features of the training pathway.
The three-day workshop brought together participants from different backgrounds in Srinagar and provided them with an opportunity to learn about the insurance sector, professional communication, marketing and the broader role of insurance marketing professionals.
For RuF, the programme forms part of its broader focus on rural upliftment, employability, skill development and creating livelihood opportunities for individuals who may not have access to conventional employment pathways. Through such initiatives, the organisation works to connect communities with training and opportunities that can contribute to economic participation and self-reliance.
Meanwhile, Foundation For Youth Web, as the Srinagar implementation partner, supported the programme at the grassroots level by helping reach and engage local participants and facilitating the execution of the training programme on the ground. Its involvement reflects a focus on connecting young people with practical learning, employment-oriented skills and opportunities for personal and professional development.
The programme concluded with an emphasis on the importance of acquiring market-relevant skills and exploring diverse livelihood options in an increasingly competitive employment environment.
The organisers said that initiatives focused on skill development, financial awareness, entrepreneurship and independent income generation can play an important role in expanding opportunities for young people and strengthening community-level economic participation. (JKNS)
