Srinagar, Sep 21 (JKNS): Police Station Shaheed Gunj has swiftly cracked a theft case and recovered five stolen batteries, with local residents hailing SSP Srinagar and newly posted SHO Inspector Mushtaq Ahmad for the prompt action.
Inspector Mushtaq Ahmad, who was recently transferred and posted as SHO Shaheed Gunj by SSP Srinagar, moved swiftly after taking charge and helped in the detection of Case FIR No. 84/2026 under Section 303(2) BNS, as per news agency JKNS.
Police arrested Umer Shafi Khan, son of Mohd Shafi Khan, resident of Maisuma, who was found involved in the case.
During the course of investigation, five stolen batteries were recovered on his disclosure within the jurisdiction of Police Station Parimpora, police said.
Police said the accused had sold the stolen batteries to Muneer Ahmad Lone, son of Gh Hassan Lone, resident of Fruit Mandi Parimpora.
The recipient had allegedly received the stolen property knowingly and has also been booked under Section 317(2) BNS.
The five stolen batteries were recovered and seized, while further investigation has been set into motion.
Locals appreciated the swift response of Police Station Shaheed Gunj and hailed the efforts of SSP Srinagar and SHO Inspector Mushtaq Ahmad in ensuring the case was promptly detected and the stolen property recovered. (JKNS)
