Karnah(JKNS): An enriching workshop on “World of Work” was successfully conducted at BHSS Nachiyan, Karnah, near the Line of Control (LoC), for secondary-stage students from PM SHRI Schools and other neighbouring schools of the area.

Around 110 students participated in the workshop, which provided them an opportunity to understand the changing world of work, explore different career pathways, develop awareness about essential skills and competencies, and connect classroom learning with real-life opportunities.

The programme was chaired by Director School Education Kashmir, Naseera Ahmed Wani, who interacted with students and reviewed the activities conducted during the workshop.

A one-day orientation workshop on the Holistic Progress Card (HPC) was also conducted at the Auditorium of the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Karnah, in which around 80 teachers participated. Senior officers and teachers from Army Goodwill Schools also attended the programme.

The workshop provided a platform for teachers to share experiences and develop a common understanding of the Holistic Progress Card and competency-based assessment for its effective implementation.

The response from both students and teachers was encouraging. The programmes highlighted the efforts to take the objectives of NEP 2020, PARAKH and the Holistic Progress Card to students and teachers in far-flung and LoC areas of Jammu and Kashmir.

The organisers also expressed gratitude to Prof. Indrani Ma’am, Head/CEO, PARAKH, Government of India, for her guidance, encouragement and continued support in promoting competency-based education and taking the PARAKH vision to remote areas of Jammu and Kashmir.(JKNS)
