Karnah, September 18 (JKNS): Director School Education Kashmir, Naseer Ahmad Wani, on the second day of his two-day visit to Karnah, visited Jabri, an extremely remote forward area along the Line of Control (LoC). It is being reported that this is the first time since 1947 that a Director of School Education Kashmir has visited forward Jabri to personally assess an educational institution functioning in the area.
During the visit, the Director inspected Middle School Jabri and reviewed student attendance, teaching and learning activities, and the facilities available at the institution. He interacted directly with the students and enquired about their education, school-related requirements and the difficulties they face. He also held discussions with the teaching staff regarding academic affairs and other issues concerning the school.
On the first day of his Karnah visit, the Director School Education Kashmir visited Higher Secondary School Nachiyan, where he reviewed the “World of Work” workshop held on September 16 and 17. The workshop, organised under the PARAKH initiative in collaboration between the Ministry of Education, Government of India, and the School Education Department of Jammu and Kashmir, was attended by students from various High and Higher Secondary Schools of Karnah.
The Director observed different models and creative activities presented by the students and expressed keen interest in their skills and innovative work. Teachers who demonstrated notable performance during the programme were also felicitated on the occasion.
Later, he visited Girls Higher Secondary School Tangdhar, where he addressed a Parent-Teacher Meeting. He emphasised that close coordination between parents and teachers is essential for the better education and overall development of children. He urged parents to pay special attention to their children’s education, upbringing and day-to-day activities.
Parents and the school administration also brought several issues to the Director’s attention. He listened to their concerns and issued necessary directions to the concerned authorities for appropriate action.
Later in the evening, the Director visited the KGBV School Tangdhar, where he reviewed the educational activities of the girls residing in the hostel. He observed science models prepared by the students and appreciated the efforts of the warden, teachers and students in presenting them effectively. He also praised the students for their creativity and enthusiasm towards academic activities.
On the second day of his visit, the Director School Education visited several educational institutions located in different forward areas along the LoC. These included Higher Secondary School Teetwal, Higher Secondary School Tad and Government Boys Central School Semari Teetwal, among other institutions.
Government Boys Central School Semari Teetwal is counted among the country’s first polling centres. During the inspections, the Director reviewed student attendance, academic activities and the facilities available at the institutions on the ground.
During his visit to Jabri, local residents from different areas along the LoC also met the Director School Education and apprised him of various educational and other issues concerning their areas. The Director listened to their concerns and directed the concerned authorities to take necessary action.
The Director School Education Kashmir was accompanied by SDM Karnah Mohammad Reyaz, Chief Education Officer Kupwara Manzoor Ahmad Najjar, Nodal Officer PARAKH G.H. Reshi, Media Advisor to the School Education Department Kashmir Fayyaz Ahmad Fayyaz, District Coordinator Kupwara Javed Abdullah, and other officers of the Education Department.
The Karnah visit assumed significance as the Director School Education went beyond the central areas and reached some of the most remote and forward locations along the LoC to conduct an on-ground assessment of educational institutions. His direct interaction with students, teachers and local residents provided an opportunity to understand their educational needs, challenges and requirements at the grassroots level. (JKNS)
