Srinagar, Sep 18 (JKNS): Jammu and Kashmir Police Director General Nalin Prabhat on Friday congratulated the newly selected officers of the J&K Police (Gazetted) Services, urging them to understand the responsibility that comes with wearing the police uniform and serving the nation.
Speaking during the handing over of appointment orders to newly selected candidates by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at Lok Bhavan, Srinagar, Prabhat, as per news agency JKNS, said the appointment day was a moment of happiness for the candidates and their families, but also marked the beginning of a serious responsibility.
He said wearing the uniform was not an easy task and urged the young officers to discharge their duties with honesty, loyalty and patriotism.
“Uniform is our responsibility. We have to work with honesty, loyalty and patriotism while wearing this uniform,” he said.
The DGP said the officers would face various challenges during their service, including situations involving risks to their lives.
He assured that training at the police academy would prepare the newly appointed officers to meet every challenge and emerge stronger both mentally and physically.
“You will be trained in such a way that you will be able to stand the test on every front, mentally as well as physically,” Prabhat said.
He said he would interact with the officers in greater detail once they join the academy and wished them success in their new journey of service. (JKNS)
