Sopore, Sept 16 (JKNS): The ongoing strike by National Health Mission (NHM) employees entered its eighth consecutive day on Wednesday, with employees of Block Sopore continuing their sit-in protest at Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Sopore.
The protesting employees reiterated their long-pending demands, including salary revision, retirement benefits, social security benefits, Golden Handshake, and a comprehensive job policy.
The employees said that despite eight days of protest, no positive response has been received from the higher authorities so far.
The protesters maintained that they have been serving under the NHM for years and urged the authorities to address their concerns and fulfil their genuine demands.
The employees further warned that if their demands are not addressed, they may be compelled to intensify the agitation and go for a prolonged strike.
The sit-in protest continued peacefully at SDH Sopore as the employees sought an early intervention from the concerned authorities.
