Bandipora, Sept 15 (JKNS): Bandipora Police have cracked a theft case within 24 hours of receiving a complaint regarding the theft of ₹3.30 lakh in cash from a house in Bazipora Ajas.
On September 14, 2026, Police Post Ajas received a written complaint from Ghulam Nabi Mir, a resident of Ajas Bazipora, stating that on September 13, 2026, some unknown persons had entered his house and stolen cash amounting to ₹3,30,000.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Sumbal and investigation was taken up. During the course of investigation, police teams examined technical evidence and CCTV footage and questioned several suspects.
Through sustained investigation and analysis of the available evidence, police developed a lead and apprehended a suspect in connection with the case.
During questioning, the suspect allegedly disclosed his involvement in the theft and revealed that a portion of the stolen money had been spent on purchasing a motorcycle and a mobile phone, while the remaining cash had been kept in his room.
On the basis of the disclosure, a police team conducted a search of the specified premises and recovered the remaining stolen cash. The motorcycle and mobile phone allegedly purchased from the stolen proceeds have also been taken into possession as part of the investigation.
Ghulam Nabi Mir expressed gratitude to Bandipora Police, particularly the SSP Bandipora, SDPO Sumbal, and DO Ajas Police Post, Aeraf Niyaz, for their prompt action and effective investigation, which led to the case being cracked within 24 hours and the recovery of the stolen cash.
The family appreciated the police team for their swift response and dedicated efforts in tracing the stolen property and bringing the matter under investigation. (JKNS)
