Srinagar, Sept 10 (JKNS): Intensifying its crackdown on the drug menace, Srinagar Police has attached and frozen immovable properties worth over ₹6.22 crore in six separate NDPS cases, targeting assets allegedly acquired from the proceeds of illicit narcotics activities.
As per news agency JKNS, Police has intensified action against properties acquired from the proceeds of illicit narcotics activities, attaching/freezing immovable assets worth over ₹6.22 crore in six separate NDPS cases.
The latest actions, carried out by Police Stations Nigeen and Zakura, along with earlier property attachment/freezing proceedings by Police Stations Shalteng, Ahmad Nagar and Lal Bazar, reaffirm Srinagar Police’s commitment to dismantling not only the operational networks of drug traffickers but also the financial infrastructure that sustains the illicit narcotics trade.
Property Worth ₹1.10 Crore Attached by Police Station Nigeen
In the latest action, Police Station Nigeen attached an immovable property comprising a double-storeyed residential house along with land, valued at approximately ₹1.10 crore, situated at Danihama, Hazratbal.
The property belongs to Mubashir Ashiq Teeli S/o Ashiq Hussain Teeli R/o Saderbal, Hazratbal, presently at Danihama, Hazratbal, and was attached under Section 68-F(1) of the NDPS Act, 1985, in connection with FIR No. 24/2026 under Sections 8/21 NDPS Act, registered at Police Station Nigeen.
During investigation, the property was identified as illegally acquired and linked with proceeds of drug trafficking activities. Accordingly, the competent authority ordered its attachment in accordance with law.
The attachment order restrains the owner from selling, leasing, transferring, altering, encumbering or creating any third-party interest in the said property.
₹1.14 Crore Property Attached by Police Station Zakura
In another significant action, Police Station Zakura attached an immovable property comprising a residential house and land, valued at approximately ₹1.14 crore, situated at Mulphaq Abu Baker Colony, Hazratbal.
The property belongs to Zubair Ahmad Rather S/o Mohd Shaban Rather R/o Lariyal, Tral, presently Abu Baker Colony, Mulphaq, in connection with FIR No. 44/2026 under Sections 8/20 NDPS Act, registered at Police Station Zakura.
During the course of investigation, the property was identified as illegally acquired and linked with proceeds of drug trafficking. The attachment was carried out under Section 68-F(1) of the NDPS Act, 1985.
The attachment order restrains the owner from selling, leasing, transferring, altering or creating any third-party interest in the property.
₹1 Crore Property Frozen by Police Station Shalteng
Earlier, Police Station Shalteng froze an immovable property valued at approximately ₹1 crore, belonging to accused Mohd. Altaf Dar S/o Ghulam Ahmad Dar R/o Dilawar Colony, Mujgund, Srinagar, during investigation of FIR No. 76/2025 under Sections 8/20 NDPS Act.
The property comprises a single-storey residential house along with 11.5 marlas of land. During investigation, the property was found to have been acquired from the proceeds of illicit drug trafficking.
Accordingly, the property was frozen under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act, and the freezing order was duly served upon the accused in accordance with law.
₹2.2 Crore Property Attached by Police Station Ahmad Nagar
In another major action, Police Station Ahmad Nagar attached an immovable property valued at approximately ₹2.2 crore, belonging to accused Owais Ahmad Mir S/o Ghulam Hassan Mir R/o Baghaat Shoora, Srinagar, in connection with FIR No. 09/2025 under Sections 8/21/27-A/29 NDPS Act.
The property, comprising a double-storey residential house, including a hall on the second floor, along with approximately 10 marlas of land at Baghaat Shoora, Srinagar, was attached under Section 68-F(1) of the NDPS Act, following confirmation by the Competent Authority, SAFEMA, Government of India, Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue, New Delhi.
Investigation established that the property had been acquired through proceeds of illicit narcotics trafficking.
₹35 Lakh Property Attached by Police Station Lal Bazar
Police Station Lal Bazar also attached a drug-linked immovable property comprising a double-storey residential house along with 3.5 marlas of land, having an estimated market value of more than ₹35 lakh.
The property belongs to Waseem Ahmad Langoo S/o Farooq Ahmad Langoo R/o Sheikh Colony, Lal Bazar, in connection with FIR No. 52/2023 under Sections 8/20 NDPS Act.
The property was attached under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act after investigation established that it was liable for attachment under the relevant provisions of law. The proceedings were conducted peacefully and strictly in accordance with prescribed legal procedure and due process, in the presence of the Executive Magistrate, Eidgah.
₹43 Lakh Property Frozen by Police Station Shalteng
Meanwhile, during investigation of FIR No. 87/2025 under Section 8/20 NDPS Act, registered at Police Station Shalteng, another immovable property belonging to accused Riyaz Ahmad Bhat S/o Ghulam Mohammad Bhat R/o Panzinara, Srinagar, was found to have been acquired from the proceeds of illicit drug trafficking.
The property comprises a single-storey residential house along with 6 marlas of land, valued at approximately ₹43 lakh. Accordingly, the property was frozen under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act, and the freezing order was duly served upon the accused in accordance with law.
Assets Worth Over ₹6.22 Crore Attached/Frozen
With these latest actions, Srinagar Police has attached/frozen immovable properties collectively valued at over ₹6.22 crore in six separate NDPS cases.
The sustained action reflects the zero-tolerance approach of Srinagar Police towards drug trafficking and its determination to strike at the economic foundations of narcotics networks. By identifying, tracing and proceeding against assets acquired from illicit proceeds, Srinagar Police is targeting the financial ecosystem that enables and sustains drug trafficking.
Such measures are aimed at depriving drug traffickers and their associates of the financial gains generated through illegal narcotics activities and constitute an important component of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan.
Srinagar Police reiterates that stringent legal action will continue against drug peddlers, traffickers and their associates, including the identification, attachment and freezing of movable and immovable properties/assets acquired from the proceeds of illicit narcotics activities, strictly in accordance with law.
