Bandipora: PHE Sub-Division Sumbal today organised an awareness programme at Dak Bungalow Sumbal regarding the scheduled disruption of water supply in several areas of Sonawari from September 10 to September 18.
The programme was chaired by SDM Sumbal Sheikh Murtaza Ahmad, and was attended by the Executive Engineer, PHE Division Sopore, Assistant Executive Engineer, PHE Sub-Division Sumbal, and other departmental officials.
Residents from Nowgam, Gundi Nowgam, Rakhi Sultanpora and Rakhi Shilwat were invited to the programme and informed about the upcoming water supply shutdown.
Officials said that the water supply to these areas will remain affected for around eight days as the existing water source at Shilwat is being shifted from its present location to another site.
The residents were requested to extend cooperation to the department during the work period. To minimise inconvenience, drinking water will be supplied through water tankers in the affected areas from September 10 to September 18.
The PHE authorities appealed to the public to cooperate with the department for the smooth completion of the shifting work and restoration of regular water supply.
