Rajouri, Sept 1 (JKNS): A man died after sustaining a gunshot injury in the Kalakote area of Rajouri district on Tuesday, officials said.
An official told news agency JKNS that police received information regarding the incident at Police Station Kalakote, following which a team was dispatched to the location.
The deceased has been identified as Sansar Singh, son of Sant Singh, a resident of Behramarhote, Kalakote.
Preliminary information suggests that the man sustained the injury from a 12-bore rifle. He was found in an injured condition and later succumbed to his injuries.
Police have taken cognisance of the incident and initiated proceedings to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the death. Further details are awaited. (JKNS)
