Srinagar, Aug 25 (JKNS): Fear has gripped residents of Zari Mohalla, Lal Bazar, Srinagar, after a dog attack on a retired Superintendent of Police, marking the third such incident reported in the area within 24 hours.
Details available with news agency JKNS stated that Mohammad Amin Bulbul, a retired Superintendent of Police and resident of Zari Mohalla, was attacked by a stray dog, during which his pinky finger was severed by the dog and taken away while injuries the legs and arm as well.
The injury is significant, and he may require surgical intervention, subject to medical assessment.
The latest incident has triggered concern among residents, who said repeated dog attacks are creating fear, particularly among children, elderly people and pedestrians moving through the locality.
With three dog-bite incidents reported in the area within a span of 24 hours, residents have urged the concerned authorities to take immediate measures to control the stray-dog population and prevent further attacks.
The incidents have once again highlighted the growing concern over dog-bite cases in Srinagar, with residents calling for sustained and effective action rather than temporary measures.
