Budgam, Aug 8 (JKNS): A specialised medical camp was organised at Markazi Jamia Masjid Park, Beerwah, by the Borderless World Foundation (BWF), with the support of HDFC Securities, providing specialised healthcare services, medical consultations and expert guidance to residents of Beerwah and adjoining areas.
The camp was organised under the BWF Boat Mobile Medical Unit, Dal Pari, offering specialised services in Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) and Ophthalmology (Eye Care). A large number of local residents benefited from the camp and received medical examinations, consultations and necessary guidance from expert doctors.
The initiative aimed to bring specialised healthcare facilities closer to people’s homes, particularly for those who face difficulties travelling long distances to major healthcare centres or accessing specialist doctors.
On the occasion, Mirwaiz of Central Kashmir, Syed Abdul Latif Bukhari, and Sheikh Zahoor Ahmad were present as special guests.
Speaking on the occasion, Syed Abdul Latif Bukhari appreciated the efforts of the Borderless World Foundation and its supporting organisations for bringing healthcare services closer to the people.
He said such initiatives are particularly important in remote and underprivileged areas, where people often face difficulties in accessing specialised medical centres and expert doctors.
Speaking to the media, Sheikh Zahoor Ahmad said that he has been associated with the Borderless World Foundation as a volunteer for nearly 19 years. He said the foundation has been working at the grassroots level in different parts of Jammu and Kashmir for several years, undertaking various initiatives aimed at supporting people in need.
He said health and education are among the major priorities of the foundation and that specialised medical camps are regularly organised in different areas of Jammu and Kashmir to provide needy people with consultations and guidance from expert doctors.
Sheikh Zahoor Ahmad announced that a comprehensive mobile medical unit would soon be launched for the Beerwah area, with efforts being made to make it available round the clock. He said the mobile unit would visit different villages and provide medical services closer to people’s homes through doctors and specialised medical staff.
He further said that the proposed mobile medical unit would be equipped with necessary medical technology and facilities to better address the healthcare needs of people living in rural and underprivileged areas.
He clarified that the foundation does not organise medical camps randomly or without planning.
Instead, the medical needs of an area are assessed first, following which specialised healthcare services are provided according to the requirements of the local population.
He added that besides ENT and eye care, specialised camps related to dental care, cardiology and general healthcare would also be organised in the near future, depending on local requirements.
Referring to the medical camp held at Markazi Jamia Masjid Park, Beerwah, Sheikh Zahoor Ahmad said an experienced ENT specialist of national repute examined patients at the camp.
He said the specialist has served in thousands of medical camps across different parts of the country and has also participated in various medical programmes abroad.
He expressed gratitude to Maulvi Latif for extending support in organising the medical camp and said another specialised medical camp would be organised in the area in the near future, with details to be announced separately.
Sheikh Zahoor Ahmad appealed to local residents to make full use of the healthcare services being provided by the foundation.
He said the foundation’s medical initiatives are not limited to ENT services but also cover eye care, cardiology and other general healthcare requirements.
Special Focus on Education of Poor and Orphan Girls
Highlighting the foundation’s educational initiatives, Sheikh Zahoor Ahmad said poor, deserving, underprivileged and orphan girls are among the key beneficiaries of the foundation’s education programmes.
He said if there is an orphan or deserving girl in any village who is studying from Class 1 to Class 10, her family members or concerned persons can approach the foundation.
Eligible girls are provided assistance towards quality education and holistic development through a comprehensive residential educational system.
He said the foundation aims to ensure that deserving and underprivileged girls receive quality education and better opportunities so that they can lead safe, dignified and independent lives in the future.
Sheikh Zahoor Ahmad further said that teams of the Borderless World Foundation are working in Srinagar, Anantnag, Beerwah and other parts of Jammu and Kashmir, and collective efforts are underway to further strengthen healthcare and education initiatives across different regions.
Local residents appreciated the organisation of the specialised medical camp and expressed gratitude to the Borderless World Foundation and HDFC Securities.
They said such initiatives are highly beneficial for people living in underprivileged and remote areas, as they provide an opportunity to consult experienced and specialist doctors without having to undertake long journeys.
Representatives of the foundation said that the Borderless World Foundation remains committed to expanding its healthcare and educational activities across Jammu and Kashmir, particularly in areas where people face greater difficulties in accessing basic and specialised services. (JKNS)
