Karnah, Aug 5 (JKNS): Karnah Valley has added another feather to its cap as Mohd Yousaf, son of Abdul Qadoos Bhat and a resident of Bukhaiyan, Tangdhar, has achieved remarkable success by securing a place in the Merchant Navy after an exceptional performance in some of the country’s most competitive recruitment examinations.
An alumnus of Army Goodwill School, Hajinar, Mohd Yousaf successfully qualified the Indian Maritime University Common Entrance Test (IMU-CET) and cleared all the required written examinations and company interviews in his very first attempt.
His interviews, conducted entirely in English, highlighted his excellent communication skills, confidence, and professional approach.
His impressive performance earned him sponsorship opportunities from leading Merchant Navy companies, including Synergy Marine Group, The Great Eastern Shipping Company, Seven Islands Shipping, Seaspan, and the Shipping Corporation of India (SCI).
Among his biggest achievements was his exceptional performance in the highly competitive Synergy Marine Group Sponsorship Examination, considered one of the toughest selection processes in the maritime sector.
Conducted in Mumbai, the examination comprised 200 questions to be completed within 180 minutes with a negative marking system. The test evaluated candidates in Navigation, Shipping, Physics, Mathematics, Geography, Sea Routes, Current Affairs, and English.
Competing against more than 1.1 lakh candidates from across the country, Mohd Yousaf secured an outstanding All India Rank (AIR) 47, a testament to his hard work, dedication, and academic excellence.
Following his success, Mohd Yousaf has commenced his career as a Trainee Navigation Officer (Deck Cadet) in the Merchant Navy, taking his first professional step toward achieving his long-term ambition of becoming a Merchant Navy Captain.
His achievement has been widely appreciated in Karnah Valley, with people describing it as a proud moment for his family, Army Goodwill School Hajinar, and the entire region.
