Budgam, July 27 (JKNS): In a major breakthrough against property-related crimes, Budgam Police have successfully solved multiple theft cases registered at Police Station Budgam by arresting the principal accused involved in the burglaries and a goldsmith allegedly engaged in receiving and disposing of stolen property. During the investigation, police recovered stolen gold ornaments worth lakhs of rupees along with cash.
The breakthrough came during the investigation of FIR No. 182/2026, registered under Sections 305 and 331(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Police Station Budgam. Acting on credible information and sustained investigation, the police apprehended the main accused, Syed Athar Shah, son of Syed Mustafa Shah, a resident of Dewar Parihaspora, Pattan. Based on his disclosure, the investigating team recovered stolen gold ornaments worth lakhs of rupees as well as cash.
Further investigation revealed the involvement of Mohd Ibrahim Itoo, son of Ghulam Hussain Itoo, a resident of Sultanpora, Pattan, who is a goldsmith by profession. He was found to have allegedly received and dealt in the stolen property and has also been arrested in connection with the case.
Police investigations further established that Syed Athar Shah was also involved in another theft case registered as FIR No. 164/2026 under Sections 305 and 331(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at Police Station Budgam, indicating his involvement in multiple property-related offences.
Budgam Police reiterated their commitment to safeguarding the life and property of the public and stated that strict legal action will continue against individuals involved in theft and other criminal activities in accordance with the law. (JKNS)
