Budgam, July 24 (JKNS): Leader of Opposition in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly and senior BJP leader Sunil Sharma on Friday visited the family of martyr Head Constable Ashiq Hussain at Lolipora, Beerwah in Budgam district to express condolences following his killing in the recent Anantnag terror attack.

Speaking to reporters after meeting the family, Sharma, as per news agency JKNS, said Head Constable Ashiq Hussain made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty and that two generations of the family have served the nation with dedication.

He said Union Home Minister Amit Shah spoke to the martyr’s son over the phone to convey his condolences and assured the family of all possible assistance.

According to Sharma, the bereaved family also shared their concerns directly with the Home Minister, who assured them that the Central Government stands firmly with them and would extend every possible support.

Sharma further said the martyr’s sacrifice would be honoured and that efforts would be made to name a school or another public institution after Head Constable Ashiq Hussain in recognition of his service and sacrifice.

Head Constable Ashiq Hussain was martyred after terrorists shot him at point-blank range near Lal Chowk, Anantnag, on Wednesday while he was on security duty. (JKNS)
