Karnah, July 17 (JKNS): In a significant outreach initiative aimed at ensuring the delivery of essential government services to residents of remote border areas, the District Administration Kupwara on Friday organised a special Digital Facilitation Camp at the Vibrant Village of Amroohi in Sub-Division Karnah.

The camp brought multiple citizen-centric services directly to the doorstep of the local population.

During the camp, residents were provided with a range of digital and welfare services, including Aadhaar enrolment and updates, e-KYC for ration cards, registration for Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) Golden Cards, preparation of Vaya Vandana Cards, and health screening under the TB Mukt Abhiyan. Dedicated service counters were set up by officials from the Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) Department, Common Service Centre (CSC) Karnah, and the Health Department to ensure smooth and efficient service delivery.

The administration ensured that senior citizens, women, persons with disabilities, and other deserving beneficiaries were given priority, recognising the difficulties faced by people living in remote border villages who often have to travel long distances to access digital and government services.

Amroohi, located close to the Line of Control (LoC), has limited access to government offices. Residents generally have to travel to Tangdhar or the district headquarters in Kupwara for even routine official work. The organisation of the facilitation camp within the village was therefore widely appreciated by the local community.

A local resident expressed gratitude to the administration, stating that such camps are especially beneficial for women, elderly people, and differently-abled individuals, as they save them from undertaking long and difficult journeys for document verification, registrations, and other essential services.

The District Administration Kupwara stated that similar outreach programmes and digital facilitation camps will continue to be organised in remote and border areas to ensure that every eligible citizen has access to government schemes and digital public services.

The initiative is being viewed as an important step towards promoting transparent, inclusive, and citizen-friendly governance while strengthening the connection between the administration and residents living in border regions. (JKNS)
