Kupwara, July 6 (JKNS): The Sumo Stand Association at Chakibal, Kupwara, conducted its presidential election after the completion of its two-year term. The election was held in a free, fair, and transparent manner.
Two candidates contested the election: the outgoing President, Riyaz Ahmad Lone, and Mohammad Younis Khan. A total of 66 registered voters exercised their democratic right by casting their votes.
Riyaz Ahmad Lone, who had completed his previous two-year tenure as President, secured re-election by winning 44 out of the 66 votes cast. His opponent, Mohammad Younis Khan, received 22 votes, giving Lone a clear victory margin of 22 votes.
