Speaking to reporters while reviewing arrangements, LG Sinha, as per the news agency JKNS, said the current Yatra has seen an unprecedented rise in the number of pilgrims compared to previous years.

“I have closely observed the last four editions of the Amarnath Yatra. This time, there has been a massive increase in the number of pilgrims. A large number of people are arriving even without prior registration. The Jammu and Kashmir administration and the Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board have made better arrangements than ever before. I urge all unregistered pilgrims to wait for their turn,” he said.

Highlighting healthcare facilities, the Lieutenant Governor said a 100-bed hospital has been functioning at the Nunwan Base Camp for the past two years and is witnessing nearly 2,500 patient visits daily, reflecting the extensive medical preparedness for the Yatra.

Earlier, LG Sinha also reviewed the overall management of the Yatra at the Nunwan Base Camp with senior officials, assessing pilgrim movement, security arrangements, accommodation facilities, registration status and other logistical requirements.

In a post on X, he said the discussions focused on ensuring a safe, secure and hassle-free pilgrimage.

“I directed officials to prioritise the safety, security and convenience of all pilgrims while ensuring every devotee is made aware of the importance of travelling strictly as per the valid registration date to minimise waiting time,” he said.

The Lieutenant Governor added that the Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board and all departments associated with the Yatra are working round the clock to ensure a safe, secure and spiritually fulfilling pilgrimage for all devotees. (JKNS)
