Congress MLA Alleges Assault by NC Leader, Supporters During Public Darbar in Bandipora

Bandipora, July 3 (JKNS): Congress MLA from Bandipora, Nizam-ud-din Bhat, on Friday alleged that he was attacked by National Conference (NC) leader Jalal Akbar Lone, brother of the sitting Sonawari MLA, along with his supporters during a public darbar at the Naidkhai Block Office in Bandipora.

Reports reaching news agency JKNS stated that, the Congress legislator, was attending the public grievance programme at the Block Office in Naidkhai at the time of incident.

Congress MLA Nizam-ud-din Bhat alleged that Jalal Akbar Lone and his supporters attacked him during the event. He, however, claimed that he escaped the incident unhurt.

The Congress MLA has termed the alleged incident serious and called for appropriate action against those involved.

There was no immediate response from the National Conference or Jalal Akbar Lone regarding the allegations at the time of filing this report. (JKNS)
