Residents said that personnel from the Fire and Emergency Services, the Army, and local volunteers made every effort to bring the blaze under control.

However, due to the intensity of the fire, the vehicles could not be saved.

Speaking to journalist Pirzada Sayeed, local residents Joginder Singh Inqalabi and Karan Singh said that the vehicles completely destroyed in the fire included a Tata Punch (Registration No. JK09C-9118) belonging to Mohinder Singh, son of Late Balwant Singh, a resident of Tarboni, Karnah; an Alto K10 (Registration No. JK08F-4665) owned by Karan Singh, son of Daleep Singh, also a resident of Tarboni; and a Pulsar 150 motorcycle (Registration No. JK02AW-2808) belonging to Sanjeet Singh, son of Molak Singh, a resident of Dildar. All three vehicles were completely gutted and rendered beyond repair.

Soon after receiving information about the incident, the local police reached the spot and inspected the site.

Police have initiated an investigation to determine the exact cause of the fire. It is not yet clear whether the blaze was accidental or the result of any deliberate act.

The affected families have urged the administration to conduct a fair and time-bound investigation, identify those responsible if foul play is involved, and provide adequate financial assistance to compensate for their losses.

Police officials stated that the investigation is being carried out from all possible angles and that no conclusion will be drawn until the available evidence has been thoroughly examined.

Meanwhile, local residents also claimed that they had been informed of an order to remove the police post that had been established in Tarboni to safeguard the minority community.

They appealed to senior district police authorities not to relocate the post, arguing that its continued presence is important for maintaining public confidence and security in the area. (JKNS)
