As per the notification, accessed by news agency JKNS, the resolution was circulated among the eligible members of the Apex Council under Rule 23(i) of the JKCA Constitution for consideration and approval.

The notification stated that since the resolution pertained to the conduct and suspension of the President, it was not circulated to him. Instead, it was sent to the remaining nine members of the Apex Council.

Out of the nine members, eight communicated their approval of the resolution, while one member did not communicate any decision. Consequently, the resolution was deemed passed by an 8-0 majority in accordance with Rule 23(i) read with Rule 48(6) of the JKCA Constitution.

“In terms of the said resolution, Sh. Javid Ahmed Kitab, President, Jammu & Kashmir Cricket Association, has been suspended with immediate effect,” the notification reads.

It further stated that the resolution shall have the same force, validity and effect as if it had been passed during a duly convened meeting of the Apex Council and will be placed before the next meeting of the Council for ratification as required under the Constitution.

The JKCA has directed all officers, employees, affiliated units and functionaries of the association to take all consequential steps for implementation of the resolution forthwith in accordance with the Constitution of the association. (JKNS)
