Srinagar, June 26 (JKNS): Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir, V.K. Birdi, on Friday extended greetings on the eve of Ashura, expressing hope that the supreme sacrifice of the martyrs of Karbala continues to inspire humanity towards justice, peace and the values of human dignity.

In a post on X, Kashmir Zone Police, as per news agency JKNS, quoting IGP Kashmir, as said, “IGP Kashmir wishes for unity & peace on the eve of Ashura. May the sacrifice of the martyrs guide humanity to strive for justice & high values of human dignity.”

The message comes ahead of Ashura observances across Kashmir, where thousands of mourners are expected to participate in religious gatherings and processions commemorating the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (AS) and his companions. (JKNS)
