Budgam, Jun 5 (JKNS): Marking World Environment Day, Budgam Police on Friday launched a large-scale plantation drive across the district, planting saplings at multiple police establishments and public locations to promote environmental sustainability, increase green cover, and spread awareness about the importance of ecological conservation.
As per news agency JKNS, Budgam Police organized a plantation drive across various police establishments and public places in the district on 5th June. A large number of saplings were planted at Police Station Magam, Police Station Beerwah, Police Station Khag, and other areas to promote environmental conservation and enhance green cover.
SDPO Magam, Mohd Ashrif Lissery, actively participated in the drive and personally planted saplings along with the jurisdictional SHOs and police personnel. The plantation campaign was conducted under the supervision of SSP Budgam.
The initiative reflects the commitment of Budgam Police towards environmental protection and encourages the public to contribute towards a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future. Police officers emphasized the importance of tree plantation in combating climate change and preserving the environment for future generations.
