Anantnag, Jun 4 (JKNS): A 26-year-old youth died in a tragic accident while carrying out agricultural work in the Kehribal area of Mattan in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Thursday, officials said.
Officials told news agency JKNS that the deceased has been identified as Firdous Ahmad Khan, son of Juma Khan, a resident of Satriang Maidan Kehribal, Mattan.
They said Firdous was ploughing agricultural land, using a power tiller when the incident occurred.
During repair work on the tiller, a scarf worn around his neck reportedly got entangled in the machine’s rotating blade, resulting in severe injuries and his death on the spot, officials said.
The body was later handed over to the family after completion of necessary formalities.
Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated further proceedings. (JKNS)
