Dr Junaid Salam Wani Given Additional Charge as Principal GMC Anantnag

Srinagar, Jun 1 (JKNS): The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Monday assigned additional charge of the post of Principal, Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag, to Prof. (Dr.) Junaid Salam Wani with immediate effect.

According to Government Order No. 439-JK (HME) of 2026 dated June 1, a copy of which lies with news agency JKNS, Prof. (Dr.) Junaid Salam Wani, Professor and Head of the Department of Ophthalmology at Government Medical College Srinagar, has been entrusted with the charge of Principal, GMC Anantnag, in addition to his existing duties.

The Health and Medical Education Department said the decision has been taken in the interest of administration and patient care and shall remain in force until further orders.

The order further stated that Prof. (Dr.) Rukhsana Najeeb, Professor of Anaesthesiology, has been directed to report back to Government Medical College Srinagar forthwith. (JKNS)
