Tourist Killed, Three Injured After Vehicle Falls Into Gorge on Aru Road in Pahalgam

Anantnag, May 16 (JKNS): A tourist was killed while three others sustained injuries after a Tavera vehicle carrying tourists met with an accident and plunged into a deep gorge on Aru Road near Mandalan area of Pahalgam in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Saturday.

Officials told news agency JKNS that the accident involved a Tavera vehicle bearing registration number JK21A-0379, after the vehicle was carrying tourists from Gujarat when it lost control near Mandalan on Aru Road and fell into a deep gorge.

In the accident, one tourist identified as Bawin Bhavsar, son of Mahesh Bhavsar, died on the spot, while Awni Bhavsar, wife of Bawin Bhavsar, Naina Ben, wife of Ashok Bhai, and Ashok Bhai, all residents of Gujarat, sustained injuries.

The injured were initially shifted to PHC Pahalgam for treatment and were later referred to Srinagar for advanced medical care.

Meanwhile, police have registered a case and initiated further investigation into the incident. (JKNS)
