NEET-UG 2026 Re-Examination Scheduled on June 21 Amid Ongoing Paper Leak Controversy

Srinagar, May 15 (JKNS): The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Friday announced that the re-examination for NEET (UG) 2026 will be conducted on Sunday, June 21, 2026, following approval from the Government of India amid the ongoing controversy over the alleged paper leak and examination irregularities.

In an official statement issued on X, as per news agency JKNS, NTA said, “NEET (UG) 2026 – Examination Date Announced, The National Testing Agency, with the approval of the Government of India, has scheduled the re-examination of NEET (UG) 2026 on Sunday, 21 June 2026.”

The announcement comes in the backdrop of widespread outrage and legal proceedings over the alleged NEET-UG 2026 paper leak case, which triggered concerns among students and parents across the country. Several aspirants had approached courts seeking a transparent investigation and cancellation of the examination, alleging that the integrity of the highly competitive medical entrance test had been compromised.

The controversy sparked nationwide debate over examination security, transparency, and accountability, with students expressing anxiety after reports of alleged leaks surfaced soon after the examination.

NEET-UG is the national-level entrance examination for admissions to MBBS, BDS, and other undergraduate medical courses across India and is attended by lakhs of aspirants every year.

Meanwhile, the NTA has appealed to students not to believe rumours circulating on social media and to follow only official updates issued by the agency. (JKNS)
