Udhampur Police Cracks Down on Provocative Social Media Content, FIR Registered Against “Udhampur Awaaz”

Udhampur, May 14 (JKNS): Udhampur Police on Thursday registered an FIR against a social media page identified as “Udhampur Awaaz” for allegedly uploading and circulating provocative and inflammatory content related to a sensitive issue reported from village Sambal, officials said.

As per news agency JKNS, Police has registered FIR No. 203/2026 under relevant sections of BNS regarding circulation/uploading of provocative content on social media in connection with a sensitive issue reported from village Sambal. Investigation into the matter has been initiated.

It had come to notice that provocative and inflammatory content/videos were allegedly circulated through social media page “Udhampur Awaaz” (Instagram ID: http://instagram.com/udhampur_awaaz) having the potential to disturb public peace, communal harmony and law & order.

It is pertinent to mention that Udhampur Police had already issued an advisory cautioning the public against circulating or sharing any unverified, misleading or provocative content on social media platforms and warned that strict legal action shall be taken against violators under relevant provisions of law.

Online portals / General Public is once again advised to refrain from spreading rumours and rely only on official and authenticated information. (JKNS)
