As per news agency JKNS, locals said that despite the bridge being a vital link for daily movement, no repair or restoration work has been initiated so far, affecting commuters, students and emergency services.

Residents alleged that the prolonged delay has led to severe hardships, with people being forced to take longer alternative routes.

“It has been six months, but no work has started. People are suffering every day due to this negligence,” a local said.

Locals further said the damaged bridge is a key route for tourists travelling towards popular destinations like Doodhpathri and Charar-e-Sharief Shrine, adding that the poor condition of the bridge has severely affected tourist movement in the area.

They said transporters and visitors are facing difficulties, which is also impacting local businesses dependent on tourism. “Tourists are facing inconvenience, and many prefer to avoid this route due to safety concerns,” another resident said.

They urged the concerned authorities to take immediate action and begin repair work at the earliest to restore normal connectivity and ensure smooth movement for both locals and tourists. (JKNS)
