Srinagar, Apr 30 (JKNS): A 70-year-old woman and a biker lost their lives in two separate road accidents in Handwara area of Kupwara district on Thursday, officials said.
Reports reaching news agency JKNS said that an elderly woman identified as Aazi Begum 70-year-old, wife of Mohammad Abdullah Bhat, a resident of Maratgam, was hit by a load carrier bearing registration number JK09C-4575.
She sustained critical injuries and was rushed to GMC Handwara, where doctors declared her brought dead, reports said.
In another incident involving a biker and a load carrier took place on Bypass Road Handwara, in which the biker, identified as Shahid Shah 22-year-old, son of Irshad Shah, a resident of Maidan Chogal Handwara, sustained critical injuries and died on way to hospital.
Police have taken cognizance of both incidents and further investigations are underway, reports said. (JKNS)
