“J&K Police has always been working in mission mode against drugs, but in the coming days, our action will be more swift against drug peddlers, smugglers and those involved in trafficking,” he said.

He emphasized that strict legal action will be taken against all those engaged in drug-related activities to make society safer.

Highlighting the role of youth, the IGP said that young people are the future of the nation and must remain disciplined and stay away from drugs.

“Youth should keep themselves away from the menace of drugs so that they can contribute positively to society and the country,” he added.

Responding to a query regarding arresting of 8 persons in Sopore incident, IGP said that police are investigating the matter.

He clarified that those involved were outsiders and no one from the school was involved, adding that the culprits will not be spared. (JKNS)
