National Convenor of Association Nasir Khuehami said that, the victims; Fareed Ahmed, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Mohd Khaliq, Mukhtar Ahmed, Mumtaz Rashid, and Tasweer Hussain were returning from work when their vehicle collided with another on a busy highway and subsequently caught fire. Most of them were unable to escape and were charred to death on the spot.

He noted that all the deceased belonged to economically modest families and had migrated abroad in search of better livelihood opportunities. “They were the sole breadwinners of their families, and their untimely demise has left their loved ones in deep shock and distress,”

Highlighting the humanitarian urgency, Khuehami stated that the bereaved families are keen to perform the last rites of the deceased in their native villages in Jammu & Kashmir, in accordance with their cultural and religious traditions.

The Association urged the External Affairs Minister to direct the concerned authorities, including the Indian Embassy in Kuwait and relevant Kuwaiti authorities, to facilitate the expeditious repatriation of the mortal remains to India, enabling the grieving families to bid a final farewell with dignity and perform last rites in accordance with their customs.

Pirpanchal Coordinator of Association Rizwan Ahmad appreciated the consistent support extended by the Ministry of External Affairs in assisting Indian citizens abroad during times of crisis. He also expressed hope for swift intervention in the present case and a prompt response from the Ministry. He noted that such timely efforts provide immense solace and a sense of closure to bereaved families during distressing situations. (JKNS)
