Kupwara, Apr 9 (JKNS): A late-night fire incident at the main bus stand in Kupwara damaged multiple buses, officials said on Thursday.

Officials from Fire and Emergency Services told news agency JKNS that the blaze broke out around 11:27 PM, prompting an immediate response from firefighting teams, who found several buses engulfed in flames upon arrival.

 

As per officials, seven buses were affected in the incident, three were completely destroyed, three sustained partial damage, while one suffered minor damage due to heat and smoke.

 

Firefighters carried out a prolonged operation and successfully brought the flames under control after several hours, averting further spread of the fire.

 

No casualties or injuries were reported in the incident, officials confirmed, adding that the cause of the fire is under investigation. (JKNS)
