Dozens from Karnah North Kashmir Kupwara District Join PDP at Srinagar Headquarters

Srinagar, April 8(JKNS): In a significant political development, dozens of individuals from Karnah constituency on Wednesday joined the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the party headquarters in Srinagar.

The joining programme was held in the presence of Party President Mehbooba Mufti, accompanied by Party General Secretary Mohammad Khursheed Aalam, District President Kupwara Mohammad Afzal Wani, and Zonal President Karnah Dr. Mohammad Abbas.

Prominent among those who joined the party include Adv. Basarat Waheed, Bashir Ahmad Awan, Abdul Waheed, Dr. Parvaiz Ahmad, Dr. M. Abbas, Dr. Shamim Khawaja, Nowshad Ahmad Khan, Naveed Anjum, Khalid-ul-Islam, Mohammad Ismail, Ikhlaq Ahmad, M. Jamail Joo, Manzoor Ahmad, Mohammad Shafi, Abid Waheed, Salikh Hussain, Zakir Hussain, Khursheed Ahmad, Khursheed Khawaja, Tasleem Ahmad, Ishfaq Ahmad, M. Sameer, Zakir Ahmad Mir, Waqar Ahmad, Fayaz Ahmad, and several others.

Welcoming the new entrants, Mehbooba Mufti expressed confidence that their inclusion would further strengthen the party at the grassroots level, particularly in the Karnah region. She emphasized the importance of collective efforts in addressing public issues and reaffirmed the party’s commitment towards peace, development, and the welfare of the people.

The new members expressed their faith in the leadership and vision of the party and pledged to work wholeheartedly for strengthening the party and serving the people.(JKNS)

*Man Killed After Load Carrier Plunges into Nallah Ningli in Sopore*  Khan Jahangeer  Sopore, Apr 8 (JKNS): A man lost his life in a tragic road accident after a load carrier vehicle plunged into Nallah Ningli Pazipora in the Sopore area of north Kashmir on Wednesday.  The deceased has been identified as Tariq Ahmad Bhat, son of Gh Qadir Bhat, a resident of Sher Colony Sopore, officials told news agency JKNS.   Soon after the incident, locals along with police rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation. The injured was immediately shifted to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Sopore for treatment, where doctors declared him brought dead.  Police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated an investigation to ascertain the exact cause of the accident. (JKNS)
