SSP SIA Kashmir Appointed as Enquiry Officer in SI Zakir Hussain Case

Findings to be submitted within 15 days, replacing departmental enquiry

Jammu, Apr 7 (JKNS): Senior Superintendent of Police State investigative Agency (SIA – Kashmir) Tahir Ashraf Bhatti, SSP, has been nominated as the Enquiry Officer to conduct a Fact-Finding Enquiry into the alleged involvement of SI Zakir Hussain replacing a previously intended departmental enquiry.

The decision follows the transfer of Ms. Divya, IPS, from Jammu & Kashmir to Puducherry, as per the Ministry of Home Affairs communication No. 15041/08/2023/UT.1 dated January 24, 2026.

The said MHA order relieved her by the J&K Government vide Order No. 105-Home of 2026 dated February 7, 2026.

The order issued by the Jammu and Kashmir police headquarters a copy of which lies with news agency JKNS stated that, In view of the transfer of Ms. Divya, IPS, from the Union Territory of J&K to the Union Territory of Puducherry, vide Ministry of Home Affairs, Gol, communication No. 15041/08/2023/UT.1 dated 24.01.2026, and her subsequent relieving by the Government of J&K vide Order No. 105-Home of 2026 dated 07.02.2026, Shri Tahir Ashraf Bhatti, SSP SIA Kashmir, is hereby nominated as the Enquiry Officer to conduct a Fact-Finding Enquiry.

Order further reads that, “the Fact-Finding Enquiry will be conducted instead of a Departmental Enquiry, into the alleged involvement of SI Zakir Hussain, EXK951925, as referred to in the HQ order under reference.”

“The EO shall furnish findings of the enquiry to this HQ within a period of 15 days,” it reads.

Order further reads that, “This issues with the approval of competent authority.” (JKNS)
