Speaking on the occasion, Prof. M. Ashraf Ganie highlighted that the initiative is grounded in scientific understanding, noting that such positive experiences have a direct impact on the hypothalamic–pituitary–adrenal (HPA) axis, thereby enhancing emotional well-being and happiness among children. He further shared that in the next phase, similar outings will be organized for cancer survivors and young children living with diabetes.

The initiative aimed to provide these young warriors with a day of joy, hope, and healing beyond hospital walls—amidst the vibrant bloom of tulips and the calming embrace of nature.

Prof. M. Ashraf Ganie extended his sincere gratitude to the Secretary, Department of Floriculture, Parks & Gardens, J&K, Mr. Zubair Ahmed, and Director, Floriculture Kashmir, Ms. Masooma Mathoora, for facilitating the visit. He highly appreciated their support in making the outing a memorable and meaningful experience for the children.

In a heartwarming gesture, the outing brought smiles, laughter, and a sense of normalcy to children bravely battling cancer. Surrounded by thousands of blooming tulips, the day stood as a powerful reminder that even in the face of adversity, moments of beauty and happiness can blossom.

The children were accompanied by Medical Officer Dr. Soozan, Resident Doctor Dr. Samara, and dedicated staff of SCI SKIMS, who ensured their comfort and care throughout the visit.

The Department of Floriculture provided complimentary entry and refreshments for all participants. It was further conveyed that similar visits will be organized in the future for children who could not participate this time, ensuring that every young warrior gets the opportunity to experience such moments of joy and healing.
