According to details available with news agency JKNS, the case involves alleged financial irregularities in the functioning of the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA). The CBI had earlier filed a chargesheet against several individuals, including Abdullah, under Sections 120-B, 406 and 409 of the Ranbir Penal Code (RPC).

During Thursday’s hearing, Abdullah did not appear before the court, reportedly due to his presence in Jammu. His counsel moved an application requesting exemption from personal appearance. However, the court rejected the plea, noting that the defence counsel was given an option to ensure Abdullah’s presence through virtual mode but declined it.

Following the rejection of the exemption application, the court directed issuance of a non-bailable warrant against Abdullah and fixed March 30, 2026 as the next date of hearing for further proceedings in the matter. (JKNS)
