CM Omar Announces ₹2 Crore Reward, Govt Jobs for Team J&K After Historic Ranji Triumph

Srinagar, Feb 28 (JKNS): The Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Saturday announced a cash reward of ₹2 crore for Team J&K following their historic Ranji Trophy victory over Karnataka.

In a post on X, as per news agency JKNS, the Chief Minister congratulated the players and support staff for their emphatic triumph on Karnataka’s home turf, terming it a landmark achievement in the cricketing history of Jammu and Kashmir.

Describing the win as a watershed moment for the region, the Chief Minister said the remarkable feat has filled the entire Union Territory with pride and inspiration, reflecting the growing stature of J&K in national cricket.

He further announced that the players will also be entitled to government appointments under the recently notified rules for outstanding sportspersons, reaffirming the government’s commitment to supporting and encouraging sporting excellence in the Union Territory. (JKNS)
