LMVs With Snow Chains Allowed on Kokernag–Warwan via Morgan Top; HMVs Prohibited

Kishtwar, Feb 24 (JKNS): The Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Marwah has permitted movement of Light Motor Vehicles (LMVs) fitted with snow chains on the Kokernag–Warwan road stretch via Morgan Top following completion of snow clearance.

An official order as pwr news agency JKNS, LMVs with snow chains will be allowed to ply towards Kokernag via Morgan Top on February 25, 2026, between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM, subject to fair weather conditions and clearance/confirmation from the PMGSY Department, Marwah. Vehicles have been directed to cross the stretch within the stipulated timeframe.

 

The order further states that traffic on the said route will be regulated on an alternate-day basis. On February 25, movement will be allowed from Kokernag towards Warwan; February 26 from Warwan towards Kokernag; February 27 from Kokernag towards Warwan; February 28 from Warwan towards Kokernag; March 1 from Kokernag towards Warwan; March 2 from Warwan towards Kokernag; and March 3 from Kokernag towards Warwan.

 

However, movement of Heavy Motor Vehicles (HMVs) on the route shall remain strictly prohibited until further orders.

 

The SHO Warwan and SHO Larnoo have been directed to ensure strict implementation of the order and make necessary arrangements for its compliance. (JKNS)
