IGNOU Extends January 2026 Admissions & Re-Registration Deadline to Feb 28

Extension of Last Date for Admission to IGNOU Programmes

Srinagar, Feb 21 (JKNS): The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has extended the last date for admission to its Open Distance Learning (ODL) and Online Learning programmes for the January 2026 session up to February 28, 2026, following requests received from students across the country.

The extension is aimed at accommodating prospective learners who were unable to complete their admission formalities within the earlier timeline. Re-registration for the January 2026 session has also been extended till the same date with a late fee of ₹200.

IGNOU has introduced around 60 new programmes in the current admission cycle across undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma and certificate levels, further expanding academic choices for learners.

Advising students to utilise the extended opportunity, Shri A.H. Rizvi, Regional Director, IGNOU Regional Centre Srinagar, cautioned applicants to use only the official university portal for admissions and avoid fraudulent payment requests through social media or other unofficial channels.
