JK Panchayat Conference Holds Key Meeting in Bandipora, Raises Grassroots Issues

Bandipora, Feb 11(JKNS): Meeting of the Jammu and Kashmir Panchayat Conference was held on Wednesday at the Town Hall, Bandipora, in the presence of State President Mr. Anil Sharma and District President Bandipora Mr. Mohammad Shafi Khan.

Hundreds of former Sarpanchs and Panchs from different areas of the district participated in the meeting. Representatives of various panchayats raised their grievances and highlighted several issues related to the functioning of grassroots institutions before the State President.

Addressing the gathering, State President Anil Sharma urged Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to ensure the early clearance of panchayat delimitation and the equitable distribution of funds among all panchayats. He also demanded ex-gratia compensation for the families of Panchs and Sarpanchs who lost their lives in militant attacks in Jammu and Kashmir.

Mr. Sharma appealed to all panchayat members to remain united and work shoulder to shoulder to further strengthen the Panchayat Conference in Jammu and Kashmir. He emphasized unity, collective effort, and solidarity for the welfare and empowerment of grassroots democratic institutions. (JKNS)
